Reducing startup time from platform boot to a usable product.

For an STM32MP-based embedded product, Crossware analysed the complete startup path—from bootloader and kernel initialisation to services and application launch. The system was reduced to the essential production path and tuned at every layer.

The resulting platform reached the application in approximately four seconds, giving the product a responsive power-on experience without compromising the maintainability of its Linux BSP.

Reliable field updates without risking the running product or customer data.

Crossware engineered a USB-based update solution for an STM32MP product using redundant A/B system partitions. New firmware is written to the inactive partition, verified and activated only when the update is ready, leaving the previous system available for controlled recovery.

Customer data remains isolated and intact throughout the update. The design handles interrupted installations, corrupt or incompatible packages, failed first boot and rollback scenarios, while anti-rollback controls prevent an authenticated device from being downgraded to older, vulnerable firmware.
